In 2024, INBRAZA made history with a 4-hour takeover of the Pitch Precinct – The Operatives Stage at Pitch Music & Arts, one of the most influential international music festivals in so-called Australia. On Sunday night, from 6PM to 10PM, INBRAZA brought the raw energy of Baile Funk to an entirely new scale, marking the first time the genre has been given a dedicated platform at a global festival outside of Brazil.

Curated and led by Luara Brandao, this moment was more than just a performance, it was a cultural statement. For the thousands in attendance, INBRAZA delivered an unfiltered, high-impact experience of Afro-Brazilian sound and movement, rooted in resistance, celebration, and diasporic pride.

This milestone affirmed INBRAZA’s role as a cultural force, pushing boundaries, reclaiming space, and introducing international audiences to the political power of Baile Funk.

We acknowledge we are meeting on the Traditional Lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the East Kulin Nations and pay our respect to their Elders past and present.

 

We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge their living connection to Country, relationship with the land and all living things extending back tens of thousands of years.
