DJ MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Under the mentorship and leadership of Luara Brandao

In 2024, Luara  launched the INBRAZA DJ Call Out, an initiative created to uncover and uplift emerging talent from culturally diverse backgrounds, particularly within the Afro-Latinx diaspora. As INBRAZA’s founder and Creative & Cultural Director, she developed this mentorship to actively respond to the lack of representation in the music and nightlife industries, offering aspiring DJs mentorship, skills training, and a pathway into the scene.

The open call invited creatives of all backgrounds, with or without prior experience, to step behind the decks and be part of a collective reimagining what DJ culture can look and sound like. We prioritized raw passion, cultural knowledge, and community spirit over technical training, creating an environment where identity, sound, and expression could thrive.

We had over 150 applications across Australia.

Selected participants received a hands-on crash course in DJing and were integrated into the INBRAZA family. By Summer 2025, 3 standout selectors: Mike - The Prodigy, Celinita, and Fabz from across Australia had progressed to touring nationally with INBRAZA, performing at events and sharing stages as part of our commitment to growing with the community we serve.

This initiative reflects Lua's ongoing mission to amplify diasporic voices, decentralize gatekeeping in club culture, and build the future from the ground up.
