DJ CALL-OUT is a national talent development initiative created by Luara Brandao through INBRAZA, designed to identify, mentor, and elevate emerging DJs and creatives within Australia’s music ecosystem.

Developed in response to the lack of accessible pathways for culturally diverse and emerging artists within Australia’s nightlife and festival industries, the initiative prioritises cultural knowledge, creative identity, and community connection over traditional industry gatekeeping.

​

Open to applicants across Australia regardless of previous professional experience, DJ CALL-OUT received over 300 applications nationally, demonstrating strong demand for accessible artist development opportunities within underground music communities.

​

Selected participants were integrated into INBRAZA’s live programming ecosystem through mentorship, performance opportunities, touring activations, and industry exposure across events and festivals.

​

The initiative has contributed directly to the growth of emerging Australian artists by creating pathways into paid performance opportunities, headline shows, festival programming, national touring, and international bookings.

​

One of the key artists developed through the platform was Maz, who progressed into headline performances, national touring opportunities, festival appearances, and international bookings through INBRAZA’s programming and artist development support.

​

DJ CALL-OUT reflects INBRAZA’s ongoing commitment to building sustainable cultural infrastructure within Australia’s creative industries while investing in the next generation of artists, particularly those from culturally diverse and underrepresented communities.
